Acts 4:27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
Love the phrase holy child Jesus, He is referenced that way in the Book of Mormon as well and the phrase catches my attention every time, maybe it embodies what I feel for my own children.
Acts 10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
An ordination represents the bestowal of power and authority.
Acts 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
I like how this verse affirms Jesus' authority in multiple ways -- speaking of judgement, ordination, and being raised from the dead.
