Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Shed for many, not for all? Is that because some will choose not to receive the gift? But wasn't it offered unto all? I feel a little confused by the wording.
Luke 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
The sacrament is the symbol of His atonement, death, and resurrection. We should always remember it.
Luke 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus suffered the pain, guilt, any kind of suffering that we might go through being mortal and making mortal kinds of choices. This was His atonement, to pay for our sufferings and sins so we could be made spiritually and physically whole, clean, relieved, ready to return to Father.
