Mosiah 18:2 Yea, concerning that which was to come, and also concerning the resurrection of the dead, and the redemption of the people, which was to be brought to pass through the power, and sufferings, and death of Christ, and his resurrection and ascension into heaven.
Did these prophets see the Lord ascend into heaven in vision or do they reference others saying it. Or maybe it is just a way to speak of part of the understood process.
Alma 40:20 Now, my son, I do not say that their resurrection cometh at the resurrection of Christ; but behold, I give it as my opinion, that the souls and the bodies are reunited, of the righteous at the resurrection of Christ, and his ascension into heaven.
This verse is about timing, about the order of things, and the ascension helps mark certain moments that must happen in relation to the timing of the resurrection of man.
