Jesus Christ --> Ascension - Day 3

Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Jesus can go up and come down into heaven. Why is it important for Him to be able to do this? Is it some kind of witness to others that the power to go up and come down testifies of His origins?

Ephesians 4:10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.

"...above all heavens," this phrase catches my attention thinking about the value of seeing the Lord go up or come down from the heavens does seem to testify of who he is. Angels and even the Lord can and do just appear out of thin air, but the going up and coming down must be a witness to larger groups of people.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world received up into glory.

This is a list of some of the great things that surround the life of the Savior and for which he deserves our praise.
