John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
It was important for His disciples to learn that they would have the same priesthood power to do works in His name once he was gone. More time on earth to do these miracles.
John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
What news, what gifts does the Lord Jesus Christ bring back from the Father? The victory over death and sin! Resurrection, salvation, exaltation--are not these the greatest of all the gifts of God? For all this we must Love Him and rejoice.
John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God and your God.
Mary, she wanted to embrace Him? To hold His hand? To feel the depth of His love for her by being close to Him? Maybe she wanted to touch the wounds to witness more clearly the power of the resurrection.
