Question of the day: What does it mean to be "saved"?
The discussions seems to be about whether you can be saved from or in your sins. And what it comes down to is our attitude and agency, do we receive the Saviors atonement? We would have to have faith in Jesus Christ and repent to receive of that great blessing, that is how salvation comes. The atonement of Jesus Christ is not about allowing us to sin as we might be inclined to, and be saved with no other action or choice on our part.
D&C 68: Teach children when 8 to observe commandments and repent and be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost.
