Day 118 Today's reading: Mosiah 18:17-35

Question of the day: What do you learn from these verses about our church's structure today?

We learn how the structure of the church should be founded upon the covenant we all take at baptism we just don't understand the full meaning of that covenant. We only see as far as the words of the baptismal ordinance or the sacrament ordinance and tend to forget the fuller meaning as described by Alma.

My thoughts even while reading this have to do with the simple structure of faith, hope, and charity. So much of what Alma described as part of the baptismal covenant and participation in the church fall within or extend from one of these three foundational attributes. He talks about faith in Jesus Christ which should always lead to repentance and obedience to the commandments. Charity of course encompasses, gratitude, caring for the poor, unity, and other aspects of church participation taught by Alma.

D&C: we learn of the last days, the resurrection and the millenium
