Day 119 Today's reading: Mosiah 19:1-24

Question of the day: Why is it important to think less of yourself and more of others?

He who loses their life for the Savior and the gospel shall find or save it. When we seek the gift of charity we are seeking to be like the Savior; He always put others first. When we think of others first we are putting our trust in God that he will care for us. It is an extremely difficult thing. As soon as pride brings us to selfishness (which may be instantaneous) we have removed our faith in Jesus Christ and our trust in His ability to care for our needs.

Applying this to my life, I wonder, what things have I chosen to commit myself to that maybe were not the Lord's will? Or of the different efforts in my life when I find I'm stressed and overwhelmed, how can I trust better in the Lord so I can continue to have His lifting in my life and feel more  comfortable with the work He has given me to do.

I think I have deviated from the question presented but we have to apply things to our lives...

D&C 29:40 - 30:11

These scriptures give direction, like mission calls to certain brethren. I wish in many ways that it was this clean cut for us. Go work at BYU until I tell you to do something else. Maybe that will be my experience, I'm just to impatient to wait for the answer.
