In the next verse I know we get a list of who go with Nephi but it occurred to me that there was really no time to decide who was going and who wasn't. If they were fleeing into the wilderness, I have to assume that the did this during the night in a way that would not incite the Lamanites to fight them. And Laman would not have wanted them to leave because then there are fewer people for him to rule over. How did Nephi know who was coming with him? We'll give this more thought as we read into the next verse.
