This morning's study brought up lots of thoughts and I didn't take the time to send them through as I normally do, but hopefully this will cover those thoughts so they are not lost.
2 Nephi 5:3 talks about the anger that Laman and Lemuel felt as they dealt with the reality that Nephi their prophet would need to teach them and they were not happy with that. Now that father Lehi was gone it should be them ruling and leading the way. The two predominant thoughts that occurred to me as I read this was first, did Sam and others help defend and support Nephi? As I write this I wonder if their willingness to follow Nephi is what in reality triggered Laman and Lemuel to feel threatened, and then want to kill Nephi.
Second, is it not tragic that Lehi's words fell on the deaf ears of Laman and Lemuel. He told them that if they didn't keep the commandments of God his blessing would fall to Nephi. He told them in 2 Nephi 1:28-29 that they must listen to Nephi, and that they would then prosper in the land.
