1 Nephi 16:11 - 17 Near the Red Sea

Nephi talks of the path and pattern they followed in keeping the next commandment of the Lord.  He shows that they had kept the commandments to leave Jerusalem, retrieve the plates, bring Ishmael's family from Jerusalem, and now, upon receipt of the Liahona, to proceed into the wilderness following the directions given by the Liahona.  They went south south-eastern direction keeping to the more fertile parts of the wilderness that were near the Red Sea.  They would travel for a few days then stop and hunt for food.  They used various weapons to accomplish this: bows and arrows, slings, etc.  The Lord blessed them to be able to provide for their families. How blessed they were to be on a journey and have food provided for them.  I wonder how often they thought of Moses and the children of Israel and their journeys and the similarities between the two?
