This morning I was thinking about how Nephi went to hunt and his bow of steel broke. It reminded me that the native americans had bows. I always thought growing up that they were the first ones to have bows and arrows as the British soldiers didn't use those.
Wikipedia says they have been used for thousands of years by all societies.
Certainly the Native Americans had it handed down from generation to generation as it came through from the family of Lehi.
