The great blessings made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and still continue through Joseph, and Ephraim and Manasseh, were of importance to Lehi, Nephi, and the righteous seed that would follow. I'm very impressed with how prophets pondered the word of God and asked questions and in revelation received clarification or more blessings. Nephi understood in his Tree of Life Vision that his seed would not be utterly destroyed but would survive in part because they would mix with the seed of the Lamanites. The Lamanite seed would destroy those who persisted in being Nephites or who were righteous but some of them would be Nephites. Alma, Mormon and others saw and understood this and reaffirmed the promises of the Lord. The spirit of revelation is available to us if we will seek it.
