Nephi's vision teaches him about the church established by the devil. There are only two churches, the church of God and the church of he devil. The key here is to understand that the church of the devil references any organization or belief that causes people to not keep the commandments. I've been reading it so much lately in the mind set that I belong to the Church of God, the church of the devil has no hold on me. Yet, I wonder if it does in some ways. We have to evaluate what wealth, fine clothes, praise of others, impure or unchaste thoughts mean to us. Those are founding principles of the devils church.
