1 Nephi 12:6,7 "Lamb of God" "Show" "twelve"

Lots of great thoughts from today's reading, but I also spent some time in 3 Nephi 11 and 12 and was interested in a series of thoughts.  This is where I am reading with the family.  I remember reading that the doctrine of Christ was that each member of the Godhead witnesses of the others and that they are one. When Christ visits the Nephites, they first feel a burning in their hearts as they hear a voice from Heaven.  Then Father witnesses of the Son.  Then the Son of God appears and descends to the people and immediately witnesses of the Father.  Then he shows himself to the people and allows them to touch his hands and feet so they can see the wounds from the crucifixion.  This then causes the people to be witnesses of him and to then be one with Him.  Their hearts have been turned to him and a relationship of trust has been built.

Jesus also teaches that those that hear the words of the twelve and believe are more blessed than those that received their witness from seeing the Son of God and believing.  This applies to me and us in our day.  We must trust the Twelve called in our day and believe in their teachings and this will lead us to our own witness of the Son of God.

All of these great things happened after the vapor of darkness disappated the same is true of our own lives, if we allow Satan's temptations to rule over us we remain in darkness, as we repent the way becomes more clear before us and we have light to see truths.  Our faith increases until we are lead to perfect knowledge.  Action upon newly acquired beliefs is key to this progress.
