In verse 3 of chapter 6 after giving reasons for not sharing more of his fathers life and history he says he "desires the room that I may write the things of God". This is his whole joy, to teach the things of God, to share them with his posterity. He wants to use persuasion to get people to come unto God.
This attitude of getting souls to come unto God has been a feeling that I have been learning over the last few years. It has intensified as my callings have become more relevant. The feeling is that I enjoy so much my relationship with Deity that I want others to feel the same. I have found that relationship deepen by my study, prayer, worship in the temple, recognizing the great blessings of the Lord by noting them in my journal. I have longed to have my good friends enjoy the same.
What does Nephi teach about how to persuade others to come unto Christ? How can I learn from his teachings to know how to persuade my friends and family to come unto Christ? I believe my relationship will continue to deepen as I maintain my own 'seeking' and quietly share with others the great blessings that come from worshiping in the ways listed above and anything else that I can glean from how Nephi does it.
