1 Nephi 6:2 "Joseph"

Nephi comments that it is sufficient in this part of the record to say that they are descendants of Joseph. And certainly we know how significant it is to be of the "house of Israel".  To be able to claim an inheritance from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is to be able to claim an inheritance with the Father, or to have claim on Eternal Life.  Nephi makes the point that they are of the house of Joseph and that does refine the genealogy and I think to some extent probably allows us a clearer picture of the great blessings that should come to him as a descendant of Joseph.

In Alma 10:3, we learn that Amulek was a descendant of Aminadi who was a descendant of Nephi and Lehi and also a descendant of Manasseh.  So Nephi finds it most important to claim Joseph as his ancestor even over Manasseh.  Were not blessings pronounced upon Manasseh that were specific to that line over and above what was promised to Joseph?  If so why does Nephi find it more relevant to just say he is a descendant of Joseph and not Manasseh?  Not a big deal I'm sure, but probably warrants a reminder of the blessings promised to each of the fathers Manasseh, then Joseph, Jacob, Isaac, Abraham.  It would be nice to see what the differences are.
