1 Nephi 5:14 "Zedekiah" "Jeremiah"

At the time that Nephi and Lehi left Jerusalem Zedekiah was the king, and he was wicked.  He followed the habits of his father and they were not good.  Jeremiah was the prophet at the time.  I think he was the presiding authority and Lehi would have been another apostle called at the time. NOt exactly sure how that worked, just making some guesses.

Jeremiah prophesied and knew just like Lehi and Nephi that Jerusalem would be destroyed.  At the Coming of Christ, the prophets cited this as an example and reason for them to trust and believe that God would fulfill the prophecy that Christ would come.
