Lehi and his family show a great example in the way that they show thanksgiving. To them it was not enough to go and offer a prayer of thanks, though we are taught to do that in the scriptures. The offered sacrifice unto the Lord. They performed and ordinance. It may be that the Lord is pleased with us offering a prayer of thanks as we do not offer sacrifices, however, I still wonder if it would not be better to offer our thanks in fasting or in performing the ordinances of the temple when the thanks is significant.
