Jacob explains his calling to teach the people and that he works with his brother Nephi to teach the word of the Lord. I can't help but think how wonderful it must have been to see his brother follow in his footsteps and in those of his father. Jacob then testifies directly of the role of the Savior. He continues by teaching from the words of Isaiah. He teaches about how Jerusalem was destroyed and many taken captive or slain, he explains that one day they will be restored.
In the end he explains how in the latter days the gentiles will do the work of the lord to bring about the restoration of the people of Israel. What a grand and miraculous plan that is orchestrated by our Savior who is full of grace and truth. I am grateful to find myself in that plan playing even the smallest part.
