Isaiah 50 - 2 Nephi 7

Jacob explained in chapter 6 that he was going to read from Isaiah, so here is chapter 50. I am praying that I can get the overall feeling of what Jacob and Nephi intended with these words. I do no know how to get every precise detail of customs and history and how they relate. But as I read this chapter in particular I am grateful for the feeling I get that we are learning about the greatness of our Savior and his mission. The wonder of his covenant with the children of Israel.

We hear first his plea that the children of Israel should trust Him and not turn away. That He is still powerful to save and always has been.

We next hear Him explain how he submitted himself to be mistreated and suffer at the hands of those who would mock Him.

And finally a warning to those who will not trust and follow him. They will not be supported in their efforts and they will suffer even as he has suffered.

I hope to ever find myself relying less on 'the arm of flesh' and put more trust and faith in the Savior. That I might be more obedient and more aware of His will.
