Isaiah 8 - 2 Nephi 18

I still struggle to get as much out of Isaiah as I should.  But I do want to comment on a thought that occurs to me from this chapter.

Isaiah talks about Christ being a stumbling block and a rock of offense.  I want to highlight a contrasting scripture that still shows Christ as a rock, "And now my sons, remember, remember, that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send for his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

How perfectly these ideas contrast and compliment each other.  Truly we can stumble across the rock of our Redeemer, or we can build upon it.
