President Monson - 177th Semiannual General Conference

President Monson gave two talks that were really great. I have thought about both since reading them again.

The first was "Mrs Patton - the Story Continues" This is a follow-up to a conference talk he gave years ago where he tells the story of Mrs. Patton and her son who entered the military at age 15. He was killed not long before his 18th birthday. President Monson as a much younger man bore his testimony to her of the plan of salvation. He later spoke about it in conference and the story continues that he finds out later how she had heard the conference talk and how she was at peace. That the answers he taught about in conference were what she was looking for. I loved this for the miracle of it. It reminds me so clearly that Heavenly Father and Jesus know us perfectly and can provide for our needs.

In the priesthood session President Monson spoke on, " A royal Priesthood". A royal priesthood is none by certain 'marks'. They are:
- A mark of vision
- A mark of effort
- A mark of faith
- A mark of virtue
- A mark of prayer

All five points seemed to strike home and make me want to pray more and act more to fulfill my responsibilities in the priesthood.
