Jesus Christ --> Death - Day 16

1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

I am grateful that Jesus Christ died for our/my sins. That sacrifice saves me.

Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Strange ways to phrase things, "in fashion as a man", why would they say it that way. Almost as if Jesus didn't know He would come to earth and live as the rest of us? He did know, there was no surprise. Maybe it has more to do with His coming to recognize His role, His premortal work as God, His mission on Earth. And then "obedient unto death". He allowed death to take Him at the appropriate time? Or He was perfectly obedient to God His Father and His laws and mission for Him, which included death?
