Jesus Christ --> Condescension - Day 12

 D&C 88:6 He that ascended up on high, as also he descended below all things, in that he comprehended all things, that he might be in all and through all things, the light of truth;

He descended below all things, that is condescension, that he might comprehend all things.

D&C 122:8 The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?

I do love these verses and the use of the word 'descended' in comparison to the word 'condescension'. I will look them up and see what I can learn about them both.

Condescension = an attitude of patronizing superiority; disdain. (google translation)

The problem with this translation is it talks about the coming down, but with out the humility required. Now consider this definition from Webster's dictionary:

Condescension = Voluntary descent from rank, dignity or just claims; relinquishment of strict right; submission to inferiors in granting requests or performing acts which strict justice does not require. Hence, courtesy.

It forbids pride and commands humility, modesty and condescension to others.
Descend = to move or fall downward
