2 Nephi 9:5 Yea, I know that ye know that in the body he shall show himself unto those at Jerusalem, from whence we came; for it is expedient that it should be among them; for it behooveth the great Creator that he suffereth himself to become subject unto man in the flesh, and die for all men, that all men might become subject unto him.
I'm not sure how this teaches of His authority.
2 Nephi 10:14 For he that raiseth up a king against me shall perish, for I, the Lord, the king of heaven, will be their king, and I will be a light unto them forever, that hear my words.
By title He is the Lord, the king of heaven. His authority is manifest in His titles. It is the same for the passage above, he is the great Creator. That also shows His authority.
