Moroni 8:20 And he that saith that little children need baptism denieth the mercies of Christ, and setteth at naught the atonement of him and the power of his redemption.
Whenever we talk about the need for the atonement in order to be freed from our sins, there has to be a clause that excuses children, they can not be accused of sinning when they could not be held accountable for something they are not yet capable of understanding.
Moroni 10:33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.
We are perfected in Christ because the blood of His sacrifice satisfies the laws of justice.
D&C 18:11 For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.
I like the verse in Alma that clarifies that it is not just men, but men, women, and children who benefit from the atonement.
