Jesus Christ - God the Father, Jehovah - Day 8

D&C 35:2 I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was crucified for the sins of the world, even as many as will believe on my name, that they may become the sons of God, even one in me as I am one in the Father as the father is one in me, that we may be one.

When our connection with our Savior becomes like that between the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ becomes our Father.

D&C 39:4 But to as many as received me, gave I power to become my sons; and even so will I give unto as many as will receive me, power to become my sons.

How do we receive Jesus Christ? Is it more than the ordinances?

D&C 45:8 I came unto mine own, and mine own received me not; but unto as many as received me gave I power to do many miracles, and to become the sons of God; and even unto them that believed on my name gave I power to obtain eternal life.

We make Jesus Christ God the Father, Jehovah, by becoming His sons. We become His sons by receiving him. Receiving Him could also include, repenting and drawing upon the Jesus' atonement for forgiveness, believing in Him, the ordinances, taking upon us His name, and how many other aspects? Or are they more or less one in the same? I don't believe there is a checklist. But I'm not sure I'm capable of doing very well those things that are expected. My only hope is that the steps of receiving Jesus Christ all lend to each other, that they build upon one another inherently. Faith in Jesus Christ leads to repentance, to forgiveness, to covenants, to ordinances, to hope, to charity, to greater understanding and capacity, to revelations, to understanding God's (referencing the whole Godhead) will, to becoming one with Him.
