Alma 11:39 And Amulek said unto him: Yea, he is the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth, and all things which in them are; he is the beginning and the end, the first and the last;
I am never certain what these words mean, but if I take them as literally as I can then I see Jesus Christ as the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth, because of his work to create the earth, under the direction of His Father.
Helaman 14:12 And also that ye might know of the coming of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and of earth the Creator of all things from the beginning; and that ye might know of the signs of his coming, to the intent that ye might believe on his name.
This verse also supports what I said above that he is Father because He is Creator.
Ether 4:7 And in that day that they shall exercise faith in me, saith the Lord, even as the brother of Jared did, that they may become sanctified in me, then will I manifest unto them the things which the brother of Jared saw, even to the unfolding unto them all my revelations, saith Jesus Christ, the son of God, the father of the heavens and of the earth, and all things that in them are.
And again the Creator is called the Father of all.
