John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou has sent.
Life eternal is knowing God our Father, and separately knowing God, Jesus Christ, our Savior.
John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
When our will is swallowed up in theirs, just as Jesus' will is swallowed up in His Father's, then are we truly one in Them.
D&C 35:2 I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was crucified for the sins of the world, even as many as will believe on my name, that the may become the sons of God, even one in me as I am one in the Father, as the Father is one in me, that we may be one.
I sense the importance of saying His name, His relationship to God, and what His role was on earth to show that Jesus is separate from His Father, they have done different things, but always exactly what was needed by Father's Divine Plan of Happiness/Salvation.
