Isaiah 9:6 (2 Nephi 19:6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
The everlasting Father; of our saved souls He will always be 'Father' because of His holy atonement.
Isaiah 63:16 Doubtless thou art our father though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O Lord, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
As our redeemer he maintains also the title of father, and it will always be so because of His Holy Atonement.
Jeremiah 3:4 Wilt thou from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
The guide of my youth; that phrase intrigues me. I pray to my Heavenly Father, and I am not taught how to pray to Jesus. Nor am I instructed so to do. Yet, from time to time I do see examples of it in the scriptures. And if in this way are we not shown how to receive guidance from our Father the Savior?
