Deuteronomy 32:15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
Not that important but it surprises me that the first reference under cornerstone is one that refers to the Rock of salvation, but not Cornerstone. But it is possible that I just don't understand very well what the reference to "the Rock" as maybe it does always mean that.
My attention is also drawn to the idea that this person "lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. It reminds me that we never want to take for granted our desperate need for Jesus Christ in our lives to provide salvation. Which is easy to do when He blesses us so much...
1 Samuel 2:2 There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
I can see that I have marked the references to God and Savior in these verse, and I remember feeling at times as I would read the scriptures and find references to God that I could mark, a great joy. I've wonder now coming across these verses did I feel this joy when I marked these verses? I think with each verse and focus on the Savior I can be reminded of my great love and appreciation for my God and His close attention to me; His overwhelming blessings.
Job 38:6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof:
Is this really a reference to Jesus Christ, or rather a reference to what He has done?
