2 Nephi 32:3 Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.
In the verses we have studied previously we saw Jesus Christ's flesh represented by bread. But here it the focus is on the value of his words, his teachings. We can be filled and satisfied in our souls by studying His word. I think I need this today. My soul has not been cheerful over the last couple of days, I hope by indulging in the word of God I can restore my soul to a happier state.
Jacob 3:2 O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his love; for ye may if your minds are firm, forever.
As we feast upon the word of God, we feast upon His love. The words of Christ were given in love by our God and His Beloved Son. As we receive those words we also receive and can feel of their love. I believe that we receive that love through the Holy Ghost.
I see also that we need to have our minds fixed on these words and not let them stray towards that which would undermine our faithfulness.
