Day 162 Today's reading: Alma 14:6-22

Question of the day: How were Zeezrom and the other believers treated by the unbelievers?

The wicked purged from their city the righteous. The removed their protection. Then to be certain they would not change the Lord let the wicked leaders lock up Alma and Amulek and mock them. I feel for them. They really had been so thoroughly brainwashed by the Order of Nehor that they were locked into wickedness. Those that were not 100% locked in had left, or were burned.

D&C 76: Sons of Perdition are the only ones who will never know forgiveness. And this is a very interesting group. These are they which KNEW Jesus and Father and then turned from that knowledge to deny it. I think, I hope that this is such a rare case. I feel like even those of Ammonihah that we were just reading about wouldn't fall into that category. Maybe there was some leader or two that were apostates, had been high leaders in the church and then apostatized, but there is no teaching of that. So I assume that these people will someday receive some kind of glory, albeit not Exaltation.

In section 76 there is much more about the Savior and his atoning for our sins with his blood. I am so grateful for these verses. We all need the peace that comes through repentance and trusting in the Savior for relief from guilt, and anger, and pain. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His Divine Son! (The Living Christ)
