Question of the day: Have you "sufficiently retained in remembrance" the blessings you have received?

I wondered if this was like a missionary lesson that Alma gave consistently because he gave it to all the people in Zarahemla.

D&C 56: assignments given or rescinded by the Lord. In primary the children were taught that they all have a role to play and that no one else can fill that role. But I wondered how that coincides with the idea that those who were not faithful in Joseph Smith's day were removed and someone else put in their place.
