I'm going to be on 2 Nephi 9:53 for a few days. It's a long verse, but it concludes a chapter so rich with doctrine. Nephi celebrates in this verse the 'condescension' of God. This follows immediately after he expresses praise and gratitude for the covenants extended to us.
As I read the cross-references you begin to feel the definition of the word 'condescension'. He came down. He who was already so like Father, came and experienced birth, life with a mortal body, and death. I sense that there is so much more to this 'coming down', that I just don't understand yet. I feel a draw to Him because He did this.
