Jesus suffered pain in the atonement as part of His bringing about the resurrection. I never really thought about His suffering being related to the resurrection.I always thought the pain was related to our sins and His needing to be able to succor His people. I appreciate more the resurrection knowing He had to suffer to bring it about.
