Nephi likes this phrase, I do wonder somewhat about its meaning. Should the word profit only be synonymous with 'benefit' in this case or is there a financial connotation also associated with it.
Nephi frequently teaches in both the spiritual and the temporal. See 1 Nephi 15:32.
The other supporting phrase that comes to mind is the promise that if they kept the commandments they would 'prosper' in the land.
In 2 Nephi 5 we will read about how their industry allowed them to be successful in many ways. They are a happy people. The were prospered and they had profited from their understanding and learning.
