I'm thinking about this phrase and the different ways it could be interpreted. Because I know that Isaiah was a poet-prophet, I believe that his words can be read in multiple meanings and all still be true.
Those that wait on the Lord will not be ashamed. In the end they will not be embarrassed.
Those that wait on the Lord will not be disappointed.
Those that trust the Lord will be justified, and forgiven of their sins, because of the first coming.
Those that have long sought the Lord will be richly rewarded as He gathers Israel in preparation for His Second coming.
We won't be ashamed if we serve the Lord.
The Abrahamic covenant is being fulfilled!
