1 Nephi 11:34 "fight"

After the Son of God is crucified, the world fought against the "apostles of the lamb".  I remember reading in verse 29 and thinking why does Nephi say that they were "carried away from before him".  Ushered off, is how I read it, like there were other important things to get to.  Then as I read verse 34 the thought came that we probably needed a little introduction to both understand the role of the Master on the Earth as well as an understanding of who they were, how important the twelve were to the plan of Salvation, and other elements that would come later.  The fighting against the twelve came preparatory to seeing the great and spacious building "which [his] father saw".  History was laid before Nephi as explanation to the various components to Lehi's dream.  Lehi asked for to see the vision and wanted greater understanding.  It came through this layered approach.  History and the original vision set upon each other for greater understanding.  If we look through these chapters of Nephi's dream we will see references to the elements of Lehi's dream called about by the phrase, "which my father saw".  The history around it teaches us more clearly the meaning.  The birth and life of the savior to understand the Tree of life and the value of the fruit.  The apostasy teaching us of the pride of the world as depicted in the great and spacious building.
