Saturday I had a discussion with a friend whose opinion matters very much to me around gospel topics. I found that he frequently referenced the fact that we need to not judge, and that there are those that are called to judge at specific times, but we are to love and forgive everyone. Isaiah teaches us here that the Savior will judge in righteousness. He sees our hearts and knows our thoughts. He understands our weaknesses as well as the challenges we've been given here in mortality so that we can grow and progress. He can take all of that into account when reviewing when we gave in to temptations and how we should be rewarded or punished.
We, on the other hand, seem to think that everyone is as we are which some how allows us to judge them according to our situation. This of course is so wrong. I see myself judging Amanda for things, I see her judging others. We can not do this, it takes away the spirit. We must love, respect, and pray to see others as Father sees them. We are commanded to pray for charity. We are commanded to leave judgement to the Lord. And we can always be grateful for blessings and offer praise for the Savior and His great work.
Isaiah review life just prior to the second coming and life during the millenium. I, unfortunately, do not yet understand the references to specific places and their meanings, but I am grateful to know that there will be a time of peace when the Lord will reign overall and the knowledge of the gospel will spread.
