Day 62 Today's Reading: 2 Ne 25:1-13

Question of the day: How would you explain our gospel in plainness to help a child or investigator understand our beliefs?

I believe in a Heavenly Father, He who created us and this world we live in.  He wants us to come back to Him after we die.  To make this possible He gave us a Savior who could help us be freed from our sins. The way to receive this great gift of forgiveness is to repent and follow Jesus Christ who is the savior our Heavenly Father gives to us. When we exercise faith in Jesus Christ we will want to keep His commandments, and repent when we don't keep those commandments. This is a challenging process so Heavenly Father also gave us the opportunity to have a helper, the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is given to help those who want to live a life of following Jesus Christ and keeping His commandments and are baptized to make that commitment.

Gospel Principles Lesson 28 - "Service"

1. How We Can Serve
2. Why the Savior Wants Us to Serve Others
3. We Receive Blessings Through Service
4. Opportunities to Serve
5. Jesus Christ is the Perfect Example of Service

a. we would be happier in our family if we put forth more effort to serve our neighbors, many have needs that we could fill that would help us to forget our own challenges.
b. We would do well to help our children to be more focused on serving the family through various tasks or chores.  And more importantly I would really like to teach the children to serve each other.  That kind of kindness, I believe, will allow them to build friendships that will bless their entire lives.
c. Everything the Savior did was to serve and bless others, I want to know more and have stored up in my mind more of the acts of service He did.
d. I appreciated the passages of scripture included at the end.  They were from Ammon and his service to the king; and of King Benjamin discussing the need for his people to serve even those in leadership positions like himself.  The verse about lifting the hands that hang down and strengthening the feeble knees was included.  Serve the Lord heartily.
