D&C 46:13 To some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he was crucified for the sins of the world.
What a gift? What is the difference between having that gift and what the rest of us might have to experience?
D&C 53:2 Behold, I, the Lord, who was crucified for the sins of the world, give unto you a commandment that you shall forsake the world.
In this verse the mention of crucifixion helps us recognize that it is Jesus who is speaking. Those who follow Him will understand and seek to do His will by forsaking the world.
