Luke 24:20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
The chief priests were threatened by Jesus of Nazareth. All of their aspirations to lead and govern seemed to be undermined by His natural ability to connect with the people and instantly have their interest and devotion.
