Jesus Christ --> Crucifixion - Day 1

 Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

These are the words of the Savior as he suffered for our sins at one point. I assume these were also the words of David earlier in history. And I believe in some form or another Joseph Smith uttered these same words. Maybe in someways we all will in this life utter these words, if we see God as the only One who can deliver us from our suffering. And that deliverance is through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

I know now that Joseph Smith didn't say these same words, but instead he said, "O God, where art thou? And where is the pavilion that covereth thy hiding place?" Still a plea in suffering to understand where God the Father is in all of this. And it still reminds me of Jesus' suffering.
