3 Nephi 1:19 And it came to pass that there was no darkness in all that night, but it was as light as though it was mid-day. And it came to pass that the su did rise in the morning again, according to its proper order; and they knew that it was the day that the Lord should be born, because of the sign which had been given.
Signs to mark the Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They knew He had come because they could not deny the signs and the signs had been foretold. Do we trust the signs of His second coming. Do we know clearly what they are?
D&C 20:1 The rise of the Church of Christ in these last days, being one thousand eight hundred and thirty years since the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the flesh, it being regularly organized and established agreeable to the laws of our country, by the will and commandments of God, in the fourth month, and on the sixth day of the month which is called April.
We set our time based on when the Savior was born, I suppose that means that the day and year of His birth was so significant that most began counting days from that time. Just like the Nephites set their time by when they established judges in the land. I can't help but wonder if we have ever lost count, or if someone ever maliciously manipulated dates.
