Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Fascinating verse. 1. We do not seek glory, attention, or focus, but to direct it back to the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father. Remember when Nephi had to do this with his brothers? 2. the testimony of Jesus is something specific. 3. The spirit of prophecy and the testimony of Jesus are equal to each other, the same. Maybe synonyms.
3 Nephi 11:12 And it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words the whole multitude fell to the earth; for they remembered that it had been prophesied among them that Christ should show himself unto them after his ascension into heaven.
They came to understand clearly what was happening to them and that they were about to see the Lord. The memory of hearing the prophecies was brought to their remembrance so they could understand.
3 Nephi 12:8 And blessed are they pure in heart, for they shall see God.
What is being pure of heart? How do we get that way? Repenting daily?
3 Nephi 17:4 But now I go unto the Father, and also to show myself unto the lost tribes of Israel, for they are not lost unto the Father, for he knoweth whither he hath taken them.
What was it like for the lost tribes to see the Lord. How fresh in their memory were the prophecies of the Lord?
