John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
Before this earth life He, Jesus, knew that He was with His Father, our God.
John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
He was Jesus Christ - God even before this earth was created. He qualified to create it.
3 Nephi 1:13 Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the sign be given, and on the morrow come I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfil all that which I have caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy prophets.
He existed before He had been born and understood His position, and had power given that He could speak with mankind and explain what was happening.
