Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Intercession is advocating for us. Advocate seems like a legal term; but I suppose so does the whole idea of judgment.
Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.
He enters the presence of God for us. I like that phrase, it's so simple and real.
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
He defends us when we turn to Him, and by His atonement does he have a right to claim us.
