Mark 12:10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner.
Similar to what we saw in Day 1. The rejected stone is the stone upon the church and each individual must build their foundation.
Luke 20:17-18 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? 18. Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
Jesus had just shared with the chief priests the story of the wicked husbandman of the vineyard, then to reaffirm its meaning he as the question of verse 17 and gives the results in verse 18. This was one of the moments when the stone was rejected that would be the head of the corner.
Acts 4:10-12 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Now it is Peter's turn to testify to the people, the chief priests, that they have fulfilled the prophecy that Christ was the Cornerstone and they - the builders- rejected that stone that would be the head of the corner.
The joy of researching these verses is to see more clearly ways we reverently speak of Jesus Christ and see the prophecies He fulfilled. In this our faith, obedience, hope, and trust are strengthened in Him who is our Rock, our Cornerstone!
